We have a fantastic and exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Auditor to join the Technical Team at Fresh-Pak Chilled Foods, Barnsley.

Reporting to the Site Food Safety & QA Manager, the key purpose of the role will be to will provide a supportive role, ensuring that day to day activities run to high standard, handling issues such as dealing with non-conforming products and raw materials, ensuring adequate team coverage, maintenance of relevant databases and aiding with the completion of investigations and projects

Key Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Work with all departments to resolve technical issues as they arise and ensure that products and processes are consistent in the factory production environment. These may take the form of serious incidents necessitating swift, decisive action and prompt resolution to root cause (effective crisis management).
  • Manage a team of QA’s, plan & coordinate to ensure that QA cover is provided for day-to-day Quality Assurance (QA) activities, identify training needs of QA’s
  • To report and act upon any issues relating to food safety, quality and legality to the management team.
  • Ensure that Good manufacturing Practice (GMP) are upheld through auditing and enforcing suitable corrective and preventative actions
  • To ensure that routine calibration of measuring equipment within the factory is completed
  • To ensure all CCPs and Pre-Requisites as defined in the HACCP Plan, are being adhered to by the manufacturing Teams and that records are accurate and legible, by ensuring that regular audits of the manufacturing activities are carried out.
  • To ensure that any non-conformances to the company’s food safety and quality policies are raised investigated and corrective actions are audited
  • To ensure that any nonconforming products (raw materials, work in progress and finished goods) are effectively quarantined and facilitate the reporting, investigating and actioning of quarantined products to the Manager and other key personnel.
  • This position has the autonomy to stop the production line in the event of a serious food safety or quality incident, or to place on hold any raw material, work in progress, finished goods or equipment suspected as being out of specification or posing a threat to product integrity.

 

Key skills/experience/knowledge required:

 

  • Previous experience working in a fast paced, food manufacturing environment, ideally in a quality or technical role, Food Safety Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating the ability to influence and motivate
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good IT Skills – in Microsoft Word /Excel and Outlook with the ability to write reports

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 4 days on and 4 days off
