We have a fantastic and exciting development opportunity for a Quality Auditor to join the Technical Team at Fresh-Pak Chilled Foods at our Barnsley facility.

Reporting to the Quality Team Leader, the primary focus of the role will be to ensure that all Day to Day Quality Assurance (QA) activities as specified by the Technical Manager and Quality Manager are carried out effectively and to report and act upon any issues relating to food safety, quality and legality to the management team

Other key responsibilities will include:

· To monitor environmental and product temperatures within the factory

· To carry out routine calibration of measuring equipment within the factory

· To carry out organaleptic assessment of all products made and follow up on any non-conformances

· To ensure all CCPs and Pre-Requisites as defined in the HACCP Plan, are being adhered to by the manufacturing teams and that records are accurate and legible, by carrying out regular audits of the manufacturing activities.

· To collate, record and facilitate transfer of microbiological and analytical sample to external laboratories.

· To ensure that weighing and metal detection equipment is operating correctly, according to company policy and procedure and where appropriate resolves any problems with such equipment.

· To ensure that any non-conformances to the company’s food safety and quality policies are raised and carry out auditing of corrective actions

· To ensure that any nonconforming products (raw materials, work in progress and finished goods) are effectively quarantined and facilitate the reporting of quarantined products to the QA Manager and other key personnel.

· Carry out ad hoc projects and investigations when required

Key qualifications/skills/experience required:

Ideally you will have previous experience within a food manufacturing environment and have the ability to work alone in a very hands on position. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to communicate at all levels and show an excellent understanding of quality management/food safety systems. Also having the ability to prioritise the workload and work effectively under pressure is a must for this position. Experience is not essential as a full training programme will be provided including nationally recognised qualifications.

Hours of Work

  • 4 x 12hr shifts – on a 4 on 4 off rota. However, you will need to be flexible around these days/hours to suit the needs of the business.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,00.00 – £26,500 per year
